Top ‘Posh Nosh’ Restaurants in Jersey

Local resident and foodie, Nan Viel gives us her favourite places for fine dining in Jersey

THE ANCHOR CLUB

On the first floor of the Boathouse overlooking the harbour at St Aubin is this large modern restaurant and bar with some outside seating.

SAMPLE DISH: Mixed fish grill- Local bass, brill, shell on prawns, sautéed leaf spinach, edamame beans, buttered royals, local fish butter sauce.

BOHEMIA BAR & RESTAURANT

Since its opening, this fine dining restaurant in St Helier has held a Michelin Star. According to Forbes magazine,’ it provides some great value options. You can have three courses at lunchtime for just £39”. Nan says it’s ‘absolutely amazing food and great service.’

SAMPLE DISH: Brittany Turbot with White Asparagus, Pickled Cockles, Razor Clam & Hazelnuts.

OCEAN RESTAURANT AT THE ATLANTIC HOTEL

Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Jersey. Smart, understated decor lets the food and the stunning views do the talking. Service is first class and the wine list is excellent.

SAMPLE DISH: Pan-roasted cod fillet, Parmentier potatoes, moules marinieres, samphire, chive cream sauce.

THE OYSTER BOX

One of the best seafood restaurants on the island also has one of the best locations, beachfront on St Brelade’s Bay

SAMPLE DISH: Jersey bass with grilled king prawn, Asian noodles, coriander and hoisin dressing.

QUAYSIDE BISTRO & GRILL

Overlooking St Helier Marina, with the largest alfresco dining area of any restaurant in St Helier, this is a very popular summer restaurant for local seafood lovers.

SAMPLE DISH: Grilled fillets of fresh sea bream served with a beurre blanc sauce, served with French beans, broccoli & French fries.

ST BRELADE’S BAY HOTEL

Lovely views of the beach across the road or, on a nice summer’s day’ eat alfresco in the beautiful gardens. Nan says, “restaurant food and service first class, fantastic menu with wide selection of dishes which change each night.”

SAMPLE DISH: Tian of chancre crab and crayfish with mango, cucumber, dill and cremefraiche.
