Top 5 Cafes in St Helier

Best Cafes in St Helier

Our favourite places for a bite and coffee in town. We’ve selected our five favourite cafes based on good food and drink as well as ambience.
Most of these cafes also do delivery/ food to-go.

BERESFORD STREET KITCHEN

Eat good and feel good at this town centre cafe ‘with a conscience.’ Beresford Street Kitchen is a social enterprise providing education, training and employment for people with learning disabilities and autism. Great coffee and great brunches.

CAFE JAC

This cafe at the Art Centre is always busy with locals. Plenty of good vegetarian options, daily specials such as Chilli Squash Salad, Nasi Goreng and, of course, a full English Breakfast are always available.

THE GOOD EGG BEACH CAFE

Enjoy a fantastic bay view from the roof terrace right on the seafront at Havre des Pas.
Gorgeous mango & coconut pancakes, V/VG options, and a child-friendly menu. On a cold day, sit inside and order an English Breakfast or our choice of smashed avocado and poached egg with bacon. If that sea air makes you think about a seafood lunch, their fish and chips are among the best in Jersey.

LOCKE’S

Behind the Co-Op at Charing Cross is this gem. Excellent coffee and friendly service. Sit down with local finance workers for expresso and porridge or delicious pancakes first thing in the morning. It has a laid-back ambience with outdoor seating on the pedestrianised lane. Check out the very Instagrammable ‘His Masters Voice’ mural on the side of the building.
Brunch/ lunch options are imaginative and well-prepared. We loved the ‘Five Seconds of Salmon’ brunch: smoked salmon, poached eggs, roasted cucumber, potato and lime salad, soy pickled cucumber, sesame seeds and wasabi.

THE LOOKOUT BEACH CAFE

On the seafront at St Aubin’s Bay and only a short walk from the People’s Park. High-quality food, including one of the best ‘gourmet’ burgers in St Helier, homemade soup, seafood combos, and fresh salads.
A nice early evening vibe in summer with- our choice- local crab and a well-chosen and chilled white wine served in front of stunning bay sunsets.

We’re fortunate in Jersey to have some great cafes, and these are just our personal choice of the best cafes in St Helier.
Jersey has also got some great beach cafes that take advantage of our beautiful bays and beaches.
