The Best Places to Eat Seafood ‘Al Fresco’ in Jersey
Jersey has a wide variety of top-quality seafood, from locally caught crab, lobster, bass, plaice, and skate to hand-dived scallops and local oysters. Take advantage of the sea air in the sunniest place in the British Isles at any of our choices.
CRAB SHACK AT ST BRELADE’S BAY
Whilst its ‘sister’ restaurant next door specialises in seafood, we prefer the more laid-back vibe here. The location is fantastic on the beachfront on Jersey’s most popular summer beach. They also have branches near Gorey Castle and in one of the prettiest lanes in the centre of St Helier, right by the Market.
SAMPLE DISH: Chili crab linguine.
Right on the sea at one of the nicest bays in Jersey. The lobster roll is excellent!
SAMPLE DISH: Jersey Pan-fried Mackerel with Jersey Royals
FAULKNER FISHERIES BBQ
The location is an old German WW2 bunker at L’Etacq at the north end of St Ouen’s Bay with bench seats outside overlooking the bay. Fish and shellfish are served in a tin foil tray with bread and salad. Very simple and very tasty.
SAMPLE DISH: Fish of the Day steamed ‘en papillote.’
Feast is a popular bistro-style restaurant at Gorey, east of the island, with a medieval castle behind you. Seafood platters are always good on the outside tables overlooking the harbour.
SAMPLE DISH: Salt and Pepper Squid.
GREEN ISLAND RESTAURANT
A local’s favourite for many years, this restaurant is literally a stone’s throw from the sand on the beach at Green Island. In summer, try and get a table outside; if you’re lucky, you may see one of the famed ‘pink sunsets’ over the island.
SAMPLE DISH: Lemon Sole Fillets/ Cockle & Mussel Marinier/ Crushed Jersey Royals/ Samphire/ Wilted Baby Spinach/ Chive Butter
