Portelet Bay is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Jersey, in fact, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches in the British Isles.
The access is down 2 different sets of stairs, both of which are very steep on the way back up. However, the stairs keep the crowds away. letting you enjoy this beautiful sheltered bay with soft, gold sand and clear calm waters.
Very limited car parking near the top of the bay. There are no public toilets, the Portelet Bay Cafe on the beach has toilets for patrons.
There is a bus stop right by the bay with regular buses from town. For keen walkers, you can walk here from St Brelade’s Bay. Walk past Ouaisne Bay, then follow the cliff path over the top through the common and down the stairs to Portelet Bay.
WHERE TO EAT
Portelet Bay Cafe on the beach serves great pizza straight from their wood fired oven.
