Portelet Bay in Jersey

Portelet Bay is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Jersey.
The access is down 2 different sets of stairs, both of which are very steep on the way back up. However, the stairs keep the crowds away, letting you enjoy this beautiful sheltered bay with soft, gold sand and clear calm waters.

FACILITIES:

Very limited car parking near the top of the bay. There are no public toilets, the Portelet Bay Cafe on the beach has toilets for patrons.

GETTING THERE:

There is a bus stop right by the bay with regular buses from town. For keen walkers, you can walk here from St Brelade’s Bay. Walk past Ouaisne Bay, then follow the cliff path over the top through the common and down the stairs to Portelet Bay.

WHERE TO EAT

Portelet Bay Cafe on the beach serves pizza straight from their wood-fired oven. At the top of the steps is one of the nicest old pubs in Jersey, the Portelet Inn, which has plenty of car parking and a pleasant outside area.
