Rozel Pub

The best country pubs in Jersey

Jersey has a wealth of great country pubs from cosy granite inns to Instagrammable gastro pubs and being an island, you’re never far from a beautiful beach to walk off the calories. Here are our favourites:

PORTELET INN

If you’ve walked up the stairs from the gorgeous Portelet Bay, you will be ready for a drink at this picture-postcard, family-friendly 16th-century inn. There is plenty of outside seating for summer days and nights or try and grab a seat on the balcony overlooking the bay. Regular bus service from town and plenty of car parking space.

PRINCE OF WALES

This is a good pub at Greve de Lecq with dining options, including a spacious terrace overlooking the lovely bay. You can stay in the penthouse apartments here and sleep with the sound of the sea.

ROZEL PUB & DINING

A very short stroll from the picturesque Rozel Bay is this recently refurbished Gastro Pub offering a friendly welcome, a good selection of cask ales, draught, bottled beers, and a decent selection of gins and wines. Alfresco dining area, including a covered patio! Food is of a consistently good standard and well presented. On a recent visit, we loved the slow-roasted pork belly with apple sauce and bubble and squeak.

SMUGGLER’S INN

Old style inn with a warm welcome, good pub grub and a granite fireplace. Only a few steps from beautiful Ouaisne Bay.

ST MARY’S COUNTRY INN

Lovely setting opposite the local parish church northwest of the island with pleasant outdoor seating areas. This is a very popular dining option for locals in the know.
